A remarkable collaboration between Blackpool’s new Sixth Form performing arts college and the Feathers Association is set to dazzle audiences in London’s West End. On 31st January, the two organizations will host an inspiring fundraising event at the iconic St Martin’s Theatre, home to The Mousetrap, the world’s longest-running play.
The evening will feature a one-hour performance by students from the Sixth Form college, showcasing a medley of beloved Musical Theatre numbers seamlessly interwoven with a narrated exploration of Agatha Christie’s extraordinary life. This creative production pays tribute to the Queen of Mystery, celebrating her legacy while raising essential funds to support disadvantaged youth across the North West.
“This event and performance will help to create opportunities and change lives” said David Jones, CEO of the Feathers Association. “The funds raised will help us continue our vital work supporting young people who are facing significant challenges, offering them the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.”
For many of the young performers, this marks their first chance to step onto a prestigious West End stage, providing an invaluable experience that builds confidence, teamwork, and professionalism. “The idea was created as a win win event for everyone, most importantly providing funding for the charity, whilst giving the students a taste of being a West End performer” Ian Meeson, Principle Blackpool Theatre Collective
The event also aims to inspire audiences with its unique format, blending music and theatre with a compelling exploration of Agatha Christie’s life and legacy. Known for her enduring impact on literature and drama, Christie’s story offers a perfect backdrop for a night celebrating creativity and community.
The collaboration between the Sixth Form college and the Feathers Association highlights the transformative power of the arts, bringing people together to make a positive impact. Every ticket sold will directly contribute to the Feathers Association’s mission of empowering young people across the North West.
With its blend of exceptional talent, engaging storytelling, and a meaningful cause, the evening promises to be an unforgettable celebration of hope, compassion, and artistry.
