Broadcasting legend Angela Rippon CBE has officially stepped into a new role as a nationwide Ambassador for The Feathers Association, championing the power of “moving to music” to transform young people’s physical and mental well-being.

Speaking at the charity’s flagship centre in Marylebone, London, Angela introduced a group of young people to the joys of dance, showing off her trademark enthusiasm.
For Angela, the connection between movement and health is lifelong. As a knock-kneed four-year-old, her mother Edna chose dance classes over medically built-up shoes. That pivotal decision launched a glittering career, leading to iconic television moments from The Morecambe and Wise Show to Strictly Come Dancing.
Now, she is using that passion to address what she sees as a growing mental health crisis among today’s youth.

“It is important for the government to put in more funding to provide youth centres across the country to give youngsters a safe space in their lives. We are very much looking forward to working closely with Angela as we roll out this idea of moving to music throughout the UK.”
The partnership marks an exciting new chapter for The Feathers Association as it continues its work supporting youth centres, empowering young people and promoting lifelong wellness through community programs.
