Children attending our Easter holiday club had a very special surprise, as The Lord Mayor Of Westminster, Hamza Taouzzale paid a visit to Feathers Marylebone.
Holding the impressive accolade as the youngest ever Lord Mayor, he naturally engaged with and was able to inspire the young members in attendance. Although coming for a tour of the facilities, Hamza was right at home as a former Feathers member, reminiscing on his own personal experiences as a young person growing up in the borough, benefiting from Youth & Community services at the club.
Greeted by an enthusiastic group of young people, it wasn’t long before the Lord Mayor found himself getting stuck into a few of the activities, provided daily at the club. First off, it was down to the music studio to sample some sounds, before stepping up to open the batting in a game of quick cricket, as our young people battled to bowl out their special guest.
As you can see from the gallery below, there were some impressive skills on show from all involved!
Upon conclusion of the cricket, The Lord Mayor had the opportunity to speak with our team of trustees, gaining an insight to the exciting plans to develop the club, including the redevelopment of our Rooftop Garden & Indoor sports space.
Everyone at The Feathers Association would like to thank the Lord Mayor for taking the time to visit the club and engage with our members. We look forward to continuing to work together for the benefit of the Westminster communities.
