Earth Day at Feathers Marylebone
For this Earth day, Monday 22nd April, Feathers Marylebone welcomed a number of great volunteers from a number of local companies including the UK’s leading estate agents Knight Frank, 5-star hotel Hyatt Regency Hotel London and The Baker Street Quarter Partnership, with the help from local plant and gardening suppliers Urban Planters. To help renovate our roof garden ready for this summer by planting new herbs ready to be used for our cookery programmes and holiday clubs.
On Earth Day, people and organizations come together together to spotlight global environmental challenges and celebrate ongoing endeavors aimed at safeguarding the planet.
Volunteering events like this are key for the Feathers to help build on their relationships with local organizations across Marylebone and surrounding areas.
Naieem from Knight Frank spoke about the importance of helping out local programmes like Feathers “Days like today are great to helping those in the local communities and those from a variety of backgrounds. To be able to help a community hub like the Feathers in anyway I can is great, this is my first volunteering day I will definitely be back when the opportunity comes up”
With a real mix of industries collaborating for such an important cause on earth day we had multiple different perspectives on why people gave up their time this week.
Speaking to Gabriella from Hyatt Regency Hotel, “Hyatt’s values are to care and help people be the best, in April and May we come together to help out in the community. We worked with Feathers last year and we are really excited to be back volunteering again. Days like this really help us achieve the mission of Hyatt.”
