On Wednesday, November 6, the world-leading wealth management group Julius Baer visited The Feathers Association’s flagship center in Marylebone, London. The purpose of this volunteering day was part of Julius Baer’s broader mission to better understand and connect with the local community.
Six staff members gave up one of their working days to participate in a two-part project. They began by touring the community center’s facilities, including the newly renovated media lounge and recording studio. They also received an update on the center’s future plans from CEO David Jones.
The first part of the volunteering project involved demographic research within the Marylebone community. This work included gathering personal stories from community members, mapping these stories to different parts of the neighborhood to showcase its diversity in backgrounds, traditions, and experiences, and fostering empathy and cross-cultural understanding.
The second part of the day involved the team creating a community collage to visually represent Marylebone and its surrounding areas, drawing from their findings from the morning session. This collage will contribute to Feathers Association’s overarching mission of fostering inclusivity and community outreach, with the support of a prominent wealth management company.
Director of Business & Innovation Michelle Vorel-Adams highlighted the significance of this partnership:
“To have the team from Julius Baer join us today at Feathers Marylebone has been fantastic. They’ve shown such interest in our work here, helping us to develop a strong picture of the local area. Collaborating with such a prestigious company not only helps showcase our mission and vision but also builds a meaningful relationship that we hope will grow stronger in the years to come.”
Sam Crone from Julius Baer shared his thoughts on the experience:
“It’s been really interesting to learn about the charity’s work and how it contributes to local communities. As a company committed to giving back and supporting people from diverse backgrounds, it’s essential for us to engage our staff and resources in meaningful ways. We’ve been brainstorming ideas with your management team here on how to expand your fundraising network among local businesses and communities.”
Initiatives like this are crucial to organizations like Julius Baer, enabling them to give back to those in need.
